A recruit decided she wanted to steal food, out of the box chow. She kept some granola bars for later. DI found out about it. For the next 3 days the DI collected every granola bar, from all the recruits. After lights on that 3rd night that DI was on duty. She had the recruit, sitting in front of her hatch, eating granola bars, with nothing to drink until 0300. She never stole food again.
When I was in FRP, SDI Ssgt Mosqueda started making fun of us, for calling ATTN. on deck with a "sweeter" voice, when a male officer came on. Well she had me and another recruit stand firewatch, during a time she knew a different DI would be coming on deck. Just so we could give her a very "sweet" report. When the DI walked on deck we stood, and gave the report. All we got was a blank stare the entire time I was reading, and a trying to hold back laughter SHUT UP, when we were done.

Just decided
That I want to have a flashback, because I dont have enough living on a Marine Corps base, and write about my time in the Marine Corps. It was probably one of the best times of my life up to now, having Christian. I left for boot camp with 4 other people from my hometown. One of them was my boyfreind Dustin. 3 of us went to the eastern recruit depot, at Parris Island, SC, and 2 went to San Deigo. We arrived at Beaufort, SC at about 8:30 that night, got on a bus and rode around on that bus for about 2 hours. It only takes 30 minutes to get from the airport to the depot. They were confusing us, I later found out that we rode around the island in circles for 2 hours. After they decided we were good and confused, we stopped. A drill instructor promptly got on, and let us know that if all 70 something of us werent off his bus in 60 seconds, we were going to start off on a bad note. We all got off the bus and onto the "yellow footprints" and started to learn how to stand. We walked up to the hatchs and got read these words that are inscribed above the hatches: Through these portals pass prospects for Americas finest fighting force: United States Marines. We stayed up all that night purging ourselves of everything personal, and getting into uniform. Changing clothes by the numbers, under the watchful eye of a Drill Instructor.
The next day we were put in our squadbay, and met more Drill Instructors. Spent a couple of days learning to do many things, like securing our rifles to our racks, do a count before doing, anything, and how to talk.
